Time and again, Georgia O'Keefe returned to New Mexico to paint the bleached skulls and bones of the American Southwest. She maintained that "Bones cut to something alive in the desert." This buffalo skull could have been the model for one of O'Keefe's paintings. Its long upper jaw, deep nose, and protruding eye sockets depict a female North American buffalo. Made of durable gypsum cement, the skull is large (19 inches long, 10 inches wide, and 6 inches high), and can be hung on the wall or placed on a floor or other stable surface. Super-glue gel is enclosed so you can attach two dark-stained curved horns (11 inches) to the bleached cranium. A sisal rope (for hanging) is included (but instructions for hanging are confusing).
